Bake Australian Flower Lolly Cupcakes These School Holidays
I love to bake on the school holidays! These cupcakes have an Australiana theme with lolly flowers inspired by Australian native flowers.
These vanilla cupcakes did not last long when they were baked. They were so delicious! Who doesn’t love eating a cupcake topped with lollies?!
The Australian flowers that inspired the decoration of these cupcakes are the Bottlebrush, Wattle and Grevillea. All these flowers feature in May Gibb’s stories and artworks.
Have fun recreating these Australian native flowers when making these lolly flower cupcakes!
Ingredients for Australian Flower Lolly Cupcakes
- Mint leaves (lollies)
- Raspberry lollies
- Sour lolly straps
- Yellow M&M’s
- Cupcake mix (or you can make from scratch using this recipe), eggs, milk, and frosting
- Patty Cases
- Scissors
Instructions
STEP 1: Bake your vanilla cupcakes using this recipe or you can purchase a packet mix like I did to bake the cupcakes. Once your cupcakes are cool, spread the white frosting.
STEP 2: To make a Bottle Brush, cut a 1.5cm section of sour strap. Cut strips on each side of the strap to create your bottle brush petals. Place on your cupcake with two mint leaves at the base.
STEP 3: To make wattle cupcakes, use yellow M&M’s and green mint leaves.
STEP 4: For the grevillea cupcakes, add a raspberry lolly and one mint leaf.
Once your cupcakes are made they look incredibly delightful on a white platter. Take them to any celebration – they’ll be a crowd pleaser!
