DIY Tea Tree and Eucalyptus Shower Steamers
Shower steamers are a great way to infuse essential oils into the shower for a pleasant aromatic experience.
Steamers are the shower alternative to bath bombs, but they essentially fizz away in the corner of the shower, diffusing essential oils that can be breathed in while you shower.
These DIY Tea Tree and Eucalyptus Shower Steamers are perfect to have on hand in the cooler months as these essential oils can help with breathing, opening up the nasal passageways.
Tea Tree and Eucalyptus are Australian Natives and they are both known as a natural alternative to unblock blocked noses. These DIY Tea Tree and Eucalyptus Shower Steamers will help when colds and sniffles arrive in the winter months.
Ingredients for Essential Oil Shower Steamers
- Ice cube mould
- Citric acid
- Baking soda
- Tea Tree essential oil
- Eucalyptus essential oil
- Spray bottle
- Water
- Spoon
- Bowl
- ½ cup and 1 cup measuring cups
Instructions
- STEP 1: Mix 1 cup of baking soda with ½ cup of citric acid. Mix well in the bowl.
- STEP 2: Add drops of essential oils. I added 10 drops of each and mixed well.
- STEP 3: Fill a spray bottle with water and spray the mixture. You don’t want to under-spray or overspray. I did 3 sprays of water and found it created the right consistency. When the mixture stays in a ball in your hand – a bit like wet sand – you know you have the right consistency.
- STEP 4: Fill your ice cube mould with the mixture, making sure to press it down.
- STEP 5: Leave outside in a dry area for 12 hours (overnight is great) and then your steamers can be removed and stored in a jar.
- STEP 6: To enjoy your shower steamer, place one cube in the corner of the shower and it will fizz away, diffusing essential oils as you shower.
